Abstract

Background. One of the main sources of air pollution is road transport. Reducing its harmful effects on the air can be achieved by switching to the use of vehicles and fuel environmental standards «Euro-5».
Materials and methods. The article discusses the technical provisions of the standards «Euro», the structure of Park of passenger cars of Russia to norms of toxicity.
Results. For example, Penza investigated the effect of transition of road transport on the ecological standard «Euro-5» the air basin of the city of Penza.
